10 years in the making
Documenting weddings has taught me many lessons. Photography skills: composition, paying attention to detail, being prepared for any lighting situation, and posing techniques. But it’s also taught me about finding the humor in unpredicted situations, the need for human connection and to be seen, how valuable family and friends are, and the importance of capturing raw and candid moments.
Traveling has enriched my life tremendously. I’ve spent a summer in Costa Rica, and met people from around the world while staying in hostels. I even bungee jumped off the highest bridge in the Americas (at the time), not too bad for a girl with a fear of heights. I’ve also traveled to Panama (I almost had my passport stolen!), Mexico, Italy, France and England. I’ve taken a 6 week road trip in the US. At the time my daughter Ava was 18 months, now at 12 years, I’ll tell her “you’ve been to this place or that place…. you just don’t remember it!”.
